Living in Dubai means dealing with intense year-round sun exposure, and for many residents, this leads to a frustrating skin condition known as melasma. If you’ve noticed brown or grey-brown patches developing on your cheeks, forehead, nose, or upper lip, you’re not alone — melasma is one of the most common pigmentation concerns we treat at Queens Elite Medical Center in Dubai Marina.
Our clinic offers a range of clinically proven melasma treatments tailored to your skin type, the depth of pigmentation, and your lifestyle, helping you achieve a clearer, more even-toned complexion safely.
Pigmentation & Sun Damage Treatment in Dubai Marina
What Causes Pigmentation and Sun Damage?
Pigmentation issues develop when the skin produces excess melanin, often triggered by a combination of factors common in Dubai’s climate and lifestyle:
- UV Exposure – Prolonged sun exposure accelerates melanin production, leading to sunspots, freckles, and tanning that doesn’t fade evenly.
- Hormonal Changes – Pregnancy, contraceptive use, and hormonal fluctuations can trigger melasma, a stubborn form of facial pigmentation.
- Aging – Age spots (also called liver spots) commonly appear on the face, hands, and chest as skin matures.
- Skin Trauma or Inflammation – Acne scars, cuts, or irritation can leave behind dark marks known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Identifying the underlying cause is the first step in choosing the right pigmentation treatment — which is why every patient at Queens Elite begins with a dermatology consultation and skin assessment.

What to Expect During Your Treatment
1. Consultation & Skin Assessment
Your visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with our dermatology team. We'll examine your skin, discuss your pigmentation concerns, review your medical history, and identify the underlying cause (sun exposure, hormonal, aging, or post-inflammatory) before recommending the most suitable treatment.
2. Cleansing & Preparation
The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed to remove makeup, oils, and impurities. Depending on the treatment, a numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort.
3. The Treatment
Targeted laser, peel, or light therapy applied to pigmentation.
4. Post-Treatment Care
A soothing serum, sunscreen, and/or cooling gel is applied immediately after treatment to calm the skin. Our team will walk you through aftercare instructions specific to your treatment.
5. Aftercare & Follow-Up
Mild redness, warmth, or light peeling may occur for 1–3 days depending on the treatment. Sunscreen application is essential during the recovery period. Your dermatologist will recommend a follow-up schedule based on your treatment plan (typically every 2–4 weeks for a course of sessions).
Who Is a Candidate for Pigmentation Treatment?
You may benefit from a pigmentation or sun damage treatment if you experience:

- Uneven skin tone or persistent tanning that doesn’t fade
- Melasma, especially after pregnancy or hormonal changes
- Age spots or sun spots that have become more noticeable over time
